A resident of Illinois has won the same lottery jackpot for the second time in 15 years, bringing home $1.3 million from the June 11 Lucky Day Lotto draw. The winner, who has chosen to remain anonymous, purchased the winning ticket on a whim at a BP gas station in Oswego, Illinois.
According to the Illinois Lottery, the winning numbers for the June 11 draw were 1-13-19-27-35. The lucky winner used a Quick Pick ticket and discovered the match after a spontaneous decision to buy a ticket while stopping at the store for a drink.
The winner stated he initially had trouble believing his luck, questioning if he was dreaming. After scanning the ticket and confirming the numbers, the reality of his winnings set in. He plans to use the money to buy a new home for his family and fund his and his wife's retirement.
This marks the second time the Illinois man has won the same lottery game. Fifteen years ago, he won $45,000 playing the same game when it was known as Little Lotto.
The BP station in Oswego, where the winning ticket was purchased, also received a bonus of $13,000, which is 1% of the total jackpot, for selling the winning ticket.
The Lucky Day Lotto is an Illinois-exclusive game that holds draws twice a week, with jackpots starting at $100,000.
