Minneapolis police reportedly raided the apartment of U.S. Representative Ilhan Omar's son, Adnan, and seized firearms and ammunition, according to law enforcement sources who spoke with Alpha News. Adnan Omar's roommate, Abdulrahman Abdi, 22, was arrested during the operation on Tuesday night.

The Minneapolis Police Department stated that Abdi was initially stopped earlier that day for driving without proof of insurance or a license. He was cited and released at the scene, but officers discovered a firearm inside the vehicle as it was being impounded. Law enforcement later tracked Abdi to an address on Marquette Avenue, where he was taken into custody without incident. Abdi was booked into Hennepin County Jail on a weapons charge and subsequently released on Wednesday night, according to jail records.

Court records indicate Abdi has multiple prior convictions, including misdemeanors and a felony conviction in 2024 for fleeing a police officer in a motor vehicle. He was sentenced to one day in jail and two years of supervised probation for that offense. Previous convictions dating back to 2022 involve offenses such as using a cell phone while driving, excessive speeding, and failing to show proof of insurance.

This incident follows a report from last year in which Ilhan Omar stated that her son was questioned by federal immigration agents after being stopped by them outside a Target store. Omar said her son was released after presenting his U.S. passport. She also claimed that ICE agents had previously entered a mosque her son was attending.
