Ilhan Omar's Home Raided by Homeland Security Amid Immigration Probe

Federal agents searched the Washington D.C. home of U.S. Representative Ilhan Omar early Monday morning, according to reports. The raid is part of an ongoing investigation into immigration papers that were filed on her behalf when she was a child.

The Homeland Security Investigations conducted the search, which represents a significant escalation in a case that border czar Tom Homan first brought to light in mid-September. The details surrounding the specifics of the immigration probe remain limited.

This development comes amid scrutiny of Omar's personal life, including her marital history. Reporter Martin Gould, who has covered Omar's relationships, noted that he had been anticipating a Homeland Security raid on the congresswoman's home. Gould has previously reported on aspects of Omar's marital arrangements, including her marriages to Ahmed Hirsi and Ahmed Elmi.

Omar married Ahmed Hirsi in 2002 in a religious ceremony not recognized by law. She later left Hirsi to marry Ahmed Elmi in 2009. Elmi is a British citizen, and accusations have been made that this marriage was facilitated to allow him to enter the United States. Some have noted that Elmi is Omar's brother. Omar left her first husband so she could marry Ahmed Elmi in 2009. Omar has been accused of going into that marriage solely to allow Elmi - a British citizen - to enter the US. Political enemies have long noted Elmi is her brother.

Omar and Elmi divorced in 2017. The following year, she married Hirsi in a civil ceremony, shortly before her initial election to Congress. In 2019, following reports by the Daily Mail that she was having an affair with a campaign aide, Omar spent months denying a separation from Hirsi before ultimately filing for divorce. She married Tim Mynett in 2019, five months after formally splitting from Hirsi.

Hirsi and Omar (pictured together) wed in a 2002 religious ceremony, though their marriage was not recognized by law. She left him to marry Elmi in 2009. After Omar and Elmi divorced in 2017, she finally married Hirsi in a civil ceremony the following year - just before she was first elected to Congress.

In 2019, the Daily Mail also reported that Omar was living on and off with her married campaign aide, Tim Mynett. The pair were subsequently pictured entering and exiting Omar's Washington D.C. residence on multiple occasions. The pair were pictured secretly coming in and out of Omar's DC pad repeatedly.

Ilhan Omar and Ahmed Hirsi have three children together: Ilwad, Adnan, and Isra. They were pictured together in 2019. Ilhan Omar and her now-ex-husband Ahmed Hirsi have three children together: Ilwad (far left), Adnan and Isra. They are pictured together in 2019.
