Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.) issued a sharp retort to President Donald Trump following his remarks at the White House Correspondents' Dinner, where he criticized the congresswoman and called for her to leave the country.

Trump's comments referenced a verbal gaffe where Omar misread "World War II" as "World War Eleven," a clip that had circulated among conservatives. He also amplified unsubstantiated claims that Omar married her brother to immigrate to the U.S. from Somalia. Omar has previously denied these allegations.

Responding on X, Omar stated, "The idiot who runs our country says this but doesn’t have the courage or evidence to come after me. This should tell you how low IQ he is." She added, "Trump is who needs to get the hell out of our country because he is destroying it and making us the laughing stock of the world."

This is not the first time Trump has publicly criticized Omar and suggested she should be deported. Earlier this year, he posted on Truth Social that she should be "sent back to Somalia." In December, he referred to her as an "ungrateful loser" and a "liability to our Country’s greatness."

Omar has previously called Trump's focus on her "beyond weird" and stated he "needs serious help." In December, she said that Trump, lacking economic policies to promote, resorted to "regurgitating bigoted lies" and called him "a national embarrassment."
