Ilhan Omar Claims Trump Targeted Her Home in DC Raid
The Minnesota congresswoman denounced the Homeland Security Investigations raid as political intimidation.
Rep. Ilhan Omar, D-Minn., stated on Monday that a raid on her Washington D.C. residence by Homeland Security Investigations was an attempt by President Trump to intimidate her as a political adversary. Agents were observed removing boxes of materials from the congresswoman's home.
Omar, who was born in Somalia and became a U.S. citizen in 2000, characterized the action as an escalation of what she described as Trump's decade-long campaign of "baseless lies and smear campaigns" against her.
"Make no mistake: this is an attempt to target political enemies and weaponize federal law enforcement," Omar said in a statement posted on X. "I will not be silenced."
Omar is seeking her fifth term in the U.S. House of Representatives in the upcoming election on November 3.
