Ilhan Omar Calls Trump 'Creep' Over Name, Marriage Allegations

Rep. Ilhan Omar, D-Minn., on Friday accused former President Donald Trump of being a "creep" after he publicly called for her resignation, citing reports about her birth name and reviving long-standing allegations concerning her former marriage.

Trump had seized on reporting that Omar's birth name is Ilhan Nur Said Elmi, according to sources familiar with a federal investigation, including a law enforcement source. A Justice Department court filing related to a search warrant for her Washington-area home identified the congresswoman as "Congresswoman Ilhan Nur Said Elmi, a/k/a Ilhan Abdullahi Omar."

Omar's office has disputed this reporting, stating, "Ilhan Omar is her real name." The congresswoman has not been charged with a crime.

"The pedophile protection party's president is laundering right-wing conspiracy theories through the most corrupt DOJ in American history," Omar wrote on X, formerly Twitter. "Whenever the news turns bad, this creep reaches for one name: mine. So let's make it crystal clear. My name has always been Ilhan Omar."

Trump, in a post on Truth Social, had accused Omar of using a "fake name" and called for her resignation. He also revived allegations that Omar's former husband, Ahmed Nur Said Elmi, is her brother. Omar has repeatedly denied these claims, stating in a recent interview when asked about a familial relationship with Elmi, "Not to my knowledge," which her spokesperson later characterized as sarcastic.

Federal investigators are reportedly examining whether Omar or her father made false statements on immigration paperwork. Earlier this month, agents searched Omar's Washington, D.C., residence, seizing her cellphone and passport, and her sister has also been questioned as part of the investigation.

Omar also directed criticism at Vice President JD Vance, suggesting he "focus on what your VP's real name is."
