The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced Wednesday that it will launch criminal investigations into two separate attacks that occurred during the war in Gaza, resulting in Palestinian casualties.

One of the investigations will focus on an incident in 2024 that led to the deaths of 5-year-old Hind Rajab and her family. The second probe will examine an attack in 2025 that killed 15 Palestinian paramedics.

The IDF stated that it "examines exceptional incidents that occurred during combat" as part of its "obligations under international law and Israeli domestic law." Since the conflict began in October 2023, the IDF's Fact-Finding and Assessment Mechanism has reviewed approximately 150 incidents. These reviews are then transferred to the Military Prosecution for further examination, and decisions have been made in five of those cases.
