The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) reported on Monday the elimination of Osama Naim Hamdi Shamlakh, identified as a Hamas naval commander, in an airstrike in the Gaza City area. According to the IDF, Shamlakh led a terrorist cell responsible for "rehabilitating and reinforcing Hamas’s Naval Array force build-up and advanced terror attacks in the maritime domain."
In a separate operation in northern Gaza, the IDF stated that three armed Hamas terrorists were killed while attempting to attack Israeli soldiers operating in the area. The military described these individuals as posing an "imminent threat" and confirmed that "precise aerial strikes" were employed, with measures taken to avoid harming noncombatants.
The IDF also reported striking and killing a Hamas operative named Mustafa Oweisi on Sunday, who was allegedly attempting to smuggle military equipment into Gaza. The military asserted that Oweisi had been involved in smuggling weapons throughout the conflict and was attempting to acquire additional equipment to rebuild Hamas's military wing. The equipment, according to the IDF, was intended for maritime and aerial assaults.
Israeli soldiers remain stationed in the Gaza Strip in adherence to the US-brokered Oct. 10, 2025, ceasefire agreement, and the IDF stated that operations would continue to address any immediate threats.
