A 3-year-old boy in Idaho successfully completed a half-mile journey to his grandmother's house after his mother told him he could not visit early one morning. The incident, which involved the child crossing a road with a speed limit of 50 mph, was documented by the family's security cameras.

Declan Driscoll, the boy, reportedly asked his mother, Hannah Driscoll, if they could go to his grandma's house. When she declined due to the early hour, he appeared to accept the answer. However, the boy later left the house undetected while his mother believed he was playing with his siblings.

Security footage showed Declan, barefoot and wearing a hoodie, exiting the house and proceeding down the street. The video then shifted to footage from the grandmother's house, where Declan arrived before his mother realized he was missing.

Hannah Driscoll stated that her mother called to check on Declan, confirming his safety. She described her initial emotions as disbelief and relief, followed by guilt. The event served as a reminder of how quickly young children can move and prompted her to re-evaluate home safety measures.

The video of Declan's unauthorized excursion was posted on TikTok on July 18 and has since garnered nearly 3 million views. The mother shared the experience to encourage other parents to assess their own home security.
