Idaho Nurse Killed by Husband in Apparent Murder-Suicide Weeks After Praising 'Happy Life'

A nurse was killed by her husband in a murder-suicide just weeks after she posted about their happiness and new life in Idaho. Violeta Yeager, 37, and Richard Yeager, 39, were discovered deceased in their Meridian home following a welfare check by police.

Coroners confirmed that Violeta Yeager died from multiple gunshot wounds, ruling her death a homicide. Her husband's death was classified as a suicide. The couple had relocated to the Boise suburb of Meridian approximately six months prior to the incident.

In an Oct. 4 social media post, Violeta Yeager expressed contentment with their life, writing, "We are thriving in ways I don’t think we even expected. … we couldn’t be happier with the life we’re building here." She also noted that their move to Meridian was "one of the best decisions we’ve ever made" and described watching their "little life fall into place here has been pretty special."
