Fiesta Village Family Fun Park in Colton, California, will close its gates permanently this month after more than 50 years of operation, but the popular Nickelodeon Pizza restaurant located within the park will remain open. The owners of the amusement park cited declining attendance and rising operating costs as the reasons for the closure.

The family-owned Nickelodeon Pizza, a staple in the community, has assured locals that the park's closure will not affect its operations. The restaurant will continue to serve customers from its long-standing location and maintain its regular business hours.

This is not the first time the pizza parlor has outlasted a theme park. The business began in 1973 as Roaring 20's Pizza Parlor. It later moved into the Movieland Frontier Town attraction in 1981, adopting the Nickelodeon Pizza name. It remained open when that park closed in 2000. After a brief period at another Colton location, the restaurant returned to Fiesta Village in 2006.

Former owner Gary Grossich, who sold the restaurant in 2025 to local Colton residents Michael and Amanda, expressed confidence in the pizza parlor's continued success. He noted that the new owners understand the business's importance to the community.

Grossich described the closure of Fiesta Village as a "sign of the times," suggesting a shift in leisure activities, with younger generations increasingly engaged with digital entertainment. He also pointed to the closure of other local attractions, such as Pharaoh's and Scandia, as evidence of a broader trend affecting amusement parks.

Fiesta Village's final public operating days are scheduled for July 10 and July 11, with private events planned for subsequent dates. The park management thanked the staff and community for their patronage over the decades.
