Ian Jackson Navigates College Basketball Path with NBA Mentor Donovan Mitchell

St. John's guard Ian Jackson is receiving mentorship from NBA All-Star Donovan Mitchell, who has taken on a role akin to a 'big brother' figure as Jackson prepares for a potentially breakout season under coach Rick Pitino. Jackson, a 6-foot-5 guard, first connected with Mitchell through NBA trainer Chris Brickley during his high school years. Their relationship has remained strong, with the pair engaging in joint workouts over the summer and appearing together in an Adidas commercial promoting Mitchell's sneaker line.

Jackson described his relationship with Mitchell as "huge," emphasizing the significant amount he has learned from the NBA star. This mentorship provides Jackson with guidance from both a seasoned NBA player and Pitino, a decorated college basketball coach.
