Conor Hanlon, the husband of Brooke Hanlon who was found stabbed to death in their Chester, New Jersey home on June 6, has been making weekly visits to the property, according to neighbors. The Morris County Prosecutor's Office is investigating the death as a homicide, but has not named any suspects or persons of interest.
Neighbors have observed Conor Hanlon, 36, at the residence, usually staying from Thursday into Friday. His white Volvo SUV has been seen parked in the driveway during these visits, though it is reportedly never left overnight. Neighbors have witnessed him performing yard work at the home on Pottersville Road.
Brooke Hanlon, 35, was discovered deceased inside the affluent home, prompting the ongoing investigation. The case has been described by investigators as unusual, with one official stating they had "never seen anything like this."
Conor Hanlon spoke publicly for the first time on Friday, denying any involvement in his wife's death. He told the Daily Mail, "My heart is totally shattered. Of course not [involved]. It's a tragedy." He declined further comment due to the ongoing investigation.
Residents in the area have expressed that they remain on edge due to the lack of updates from law enforcement. One neighbor recalled police going door-to-door in the weeks prior to Brooke Hanlon's death to check on residents after a 911 call was reportedly made in the area. The neighbor stated that police asked if "everything was OK" between 9:30 and 10 p.m. on the night of the call.
Another neighbor, who owns a gun, told Fox News Digital in July that he felt compelled to protect his family and had been looking over his shoulder more frequently, knowing a potential killer is still at large.
Conor Hanlon has not been charged with any crime in connection with his wife's death.
