Husband Charged With Murder of GP Found Dead at Home
Mark Cain appeared at Crown Court facing allegations of killing his wife, Dr. Hannah Cain, who was discovered unresponsive at their Norfolk residence.
Mark Cain, 45, has been formally charged with the murder of his wife, Dr. Hannah Cain, a general practitioner also known as Dr. Hannah Terry. Her body was discovered on Sunday at their home in Fern Hill, Dersingham, Norfolk.
Cain appeared before King's Lynn Crown Court via video link from HMP Norwich on Tuesday. He confirmed his name and stated he understood the proceedings. He was remanded in custody and is scheduled to appear for a plea hearing on December 3.
Prosecutor Steven Ball stated that Mark Cain is accused of murdering his wife between October 3 and the early hours of October 4 at their family home. Emergency services responded to the scene and found Hannah Cain "unconscious and unresponsive."
A post-mortem examination revealed that she had sustained blunt force injuries to the head and neck injuries consistent with compression to the neck. The court heard the charges relate to the events of October 3 and 4.
