Authorities have arrested Ignacio Espinal, 55, in connection with the death of his wife, Alyne Espinal, 46. Police discovered Alyne Espinal with multiple stab wounds to her chest, neck, and thigh inside their Somerville, New Jersey, home on Thursday, August 10, 2026.
Officers responded to the residence on Brookside Avenue shortly before 7:30 p.m. after receiving a 911 call reporting concerns for the welfare of the woman living there. Alyne Espinal was pronounced dead at the scene.

He faces charges of first-degree murder, third-degree possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, and third-degree hindering.
