Former President Donald Trump's planned trip to Tuscaloosa, Alabama, to attend the highly anticipated college football game between the Crimson Tide and the Georgia Bulldogs faces potential disruption from an approaching hurricane. Experts have cautioned that the game itself could be relocated due to extreme weather.

Trump announced his intention to attend the SEC clash, scheduled for Saturday evening. However, ABC chief meteorologist James Spann has warned of a possible hurricane making landfall in Mobile Bay, which could impact the Tuscaloosa area.

"It would be a nightmare for everybody involved," Spann told AL.com. "But if we do get a Category 1, Category 2 hurricane coming right up Mobile Bay Saturday morning, I don't know if you wouldn't be playing that game in Tuscaloosa." He added that winds could gust up to 50 miles per hour, accompanied by torrential rain and the potential for isolated tornadoes.

"The idea of moving the game... it's clearly on the table," Spann stated. He characterized the situation as a "perfect storm," noting that other significant events are scheduled for the weekend, including ESPN's College GameDay in Tuscaloosa, a Zach Bryan concert in Auburn, and the National Shrimp Festival in Gulf Shores.

The Southeastern Conference (SEC) has indicated it is monitoring the forecasts and coordinating with affected schools. The clarity of the storm's trajectory and intensity is expected to improve by Wednesday.

"But if it comes up through West Alabama or Mississippi... it’s gonna be rough. I mean, real rough," Spann concluded.
