Hurricane Isaias Forces 'College GameDay' Indoors, Game Against Georgia Remains on Schedule

ESPN's "College GameDay" will move its broadcast indoors to Coleman Coliseum on the University of Alabama campus this Saturday, as Hurricane Isaias approaches the Gulf Coast. The decision comes amid forecasts of severe weather expected to impact Florida, Alabama, and Mississippi.

The network has opted for an indoor venue to ensure the show proceeds as planned, according to an ESPN announcement. This is not the first time "College GameDay" has had to relocate indoors this season; the program was temporarily moved to LSU's student union in Week 1 due to lightning.

Despite the looming storm, the scheduled SEC football game between Alabama and Georgia is still set to kick off at 7:30 p.m. ET on Saturday. University officials and the SEC are closely monitoring the hurricane's path and its potential impact on the game.

"Alabama athletics continues to closely monitor the weather forecast ahead of Saturday’s football game, with the safety and well-being of the student-athletes, coaches, staff and fans as our highest priority," the university stated Wednesday night. "We remain in close communication with the National Weather Service, the Southeastern Conference office and the University of Georgia as we observe conditions."

Alabama athletics has advised fans to rely on official university and SEC channels for the latest updates regarding the game. Hurricane Isaias was upgraded to a Category 2 storm on Thursday evening.
