Hundreds Detained in Delhi Over 'Cockroach' Party Protest
The Gen-Z led Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) organized a protest in Delhi demanding electoral reforms, with leaders among hundreds detained.

Hundreds of protesters, including leaders of The Cockroach Janta Party (CJP), were detained in Delhi on Saturday during a demonstration calling for electoral reforms. The protest, organized by the Gen-Z led CJP, was met with a significant police presence, with tens of thousands of security personnel deployed and roads barricaded.
Delhi police had denied permission for the demonstration to take place. Despite this, the CJP had insisted the protest would proceed. Videos shared on social media by the CJP showed its founder, Abhijeet Dipke, being detained along with other party leaders shortly after arriving in the capital. Protesters were heard slamming on bus windows following their detention.
The movement was initiated in May after India's Chief Justice reportedly likened some unemployed young people to "cockroaches." The CJP adopted this term, using it to rally support for their cause.
