The Metropolitan Police have launched an investigation after human bones were discovered in the garden of a bungalow in Biggin Hill, south London. Officers were alerted to the scene on Aperfield Road last Friday afternoon.

Specialist examination confirmed the bones are human, and further tests are underway to determine their age and identity. The area surrounding the property was cordoned off for approximately six days while the initial investigation took place. A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police stated that the crime scene has since been closed and the investigation continues to ascertain the full circumstances of the discovery.

Reports from a local resident indicated that builders working at the property made the discovery, leading to an immediate halt in construction work. The investigation is ongoing.
