Hugo Taylor Breaks Silence on Split from Millie Mackintosh, Cites 'Considerable Sadness'
Reality TV personality Hugo Taylor shared his feelings on Instagram Stories following his ex-wife's public debut with a new boyfriend.
Hugo Taylor has publicly addressed his separation from ex-wife Millie Mackintosh, stating that the "past year has brought considerable sadness." His comments on Instagram Stories came days after Mackintosh went public with her new boyfriend, Matthew Tanner.
Taylor, 40, acknowledged the emotional toll of the past year but emphasized his gratitude for their two daughters, Sienna, six, and Aurelia, four. He expressed his commitment to being the best father he can be, providing them with the love, security, and consistency they need during this period of change.
He stated that he had refrained from making public comments about the end of his marriage out of respect for his family's privacy and the need to maintain stability for their daughters. Taylor also shared that he has been deeply moved by the support from friends and family and looks to the future with optimism.
This public statement follows Mackintosh's eight-month separation from Taylor. She was recently seen holding hands with Tanner, 38, a fitness enthusiast and Global Solutions Director at Robert Walters Consultancy. The couple appeared affectionate during a dog walk in Chelsea and attended a Boodles event together, with Mackintosh later making their relationship Instagram official.
Tanner, who previously played amateur rugby, is an avid fitness enthusiast and participates in endurance races, including the Barcelona Marathon and the Marathon des Sables Ultra. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Sciences and Nutrition from Cardiff Metropolitan University.
Mackintosh, 37, reportedly met Tanner through the celebrity dating app Raya. Sources close to her indicated that she was not rushing into a new relationship but was open to "having some fun and getting back out there." Her dating app profile describes her as a "creator, entrepreneur and author" and values "emotional intelligence" in a partner.
Taylor and Mackintosh first met and began dating in 2011 while starring on the reality series Made In Chelsea. Their early relationship was marked by public drama, including Mackintosh throwing a drink in Taylor's face after discovering he had cheated with her best friend. They split that same year.
After a five-year separation during which Mackintosh was married to rapper Professor Green, the couple reconciled in 2016. They married and welcomed their two daughters. However, the couple reportedly split quietly in February, and their daughters now divide their time between their separate homes. Their former family home in west London was recently renovated.
