U.S. Ambassador Mike Huckabee stated Monday that President Donald Trump's strategy of militarily striking and economically pressuring Iran is essential for protecting American interests. Huckabee asserted that Trump has taken actions against Iran that no other president has been willing to undertake, telling Newsmax that the president is "decimating them economically" after military engagements.

Huckabee emphasized that Iran's threat is directed at the United States, not solely Israel, and urged Americans to recognize this danger. "They’ve been saying it for 47 and a half years. We need to wake up and understand that they’ve always targeted the Red, White and Blue. So this president, thank God, is finally saying enough of this," he said.

His remarks come amidst ongoing tensions in the region. In Saudi Arabia, attacks attributed to the Iranian-backed Houthi group wounded 73 people and ignited fires at oil facilities on Tuesday, according to the Saudi-led coalition. The coalition spokesman, Maj. Gen. Turki al-Malki, characterized the strikes as a "serious escalation" and a "flagrant violation of the kingdom’s sovereignty."

Meanwhile, U.S. Central Command forces reported on Monday that they had redirected 94 commercial vessels as part of a maritime blockade of Iranian ports, with three vessels disabled and two boarded. CENTCOM stated these operations were to ensure "complete compliance with the blockade."

In parallel, International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Director General Rafael Grossi indicated that Iran granting the nuclear watchdog access to key facilities could lead to "positive repercussions" for the Islamic Republic. Grossi stressed that dialogue and renewed access are "imperative" to ensure Iran does not acquire nuclear weapons. The U.S., Britain, France, and Germany have reportedly agreed on a resolution to refer Iran to the UN Security Council over its nuclear reporting obligations.

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, however, stated Tuesday that Tehran would continue resisting "with full force until the aggressors are brought to complete regret," while asserting the Islamic Republic opposes war. Iran's deputy parliament speaker, Ali Nikzad, also urged U.S. officials to leave the region, claiming recent Iranian attacks demonstrated only a fraction of the country's military capabilities.
