Huckabee Condemns Macklemore's 'Jew Hatred' Amid Concert Controversy

Former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee has publicly criticized rapper Macklemore for what he described as "Jew hatred," endorsing the idea that stadium owners should cancel the artist's concerts. Huckabee stated in an interview with Fox News Digital that he believes Macklemore's pro-Palestinian remarks echo support for Hamas, referencing the Oct. 7 attacks on Israel.

"It's really unfortunate that Malcklemore has decided that he's going to become the voice, if you will, of Jew hatred, and I don't understand why it's entertainers like him think that it is entertaining to go and take a pro-Hamas position, a position that supports people that viciously raped, beheaded babies, burned elderly people in their wheelchairs and did unthinkable and unspeakable things to innocent civilians as Hamas came across the border from Gaza and butchered, massacred 1200 people, and then took 251 people hostage, including many Americans," Huckabee said.

Huckabee suggested that while free speech is a right, it does not shield individuals from consequences, particularly when remarks align with or appear to support groups like Hamas. He argued that concert and stadium owners should not be expected to promote performances that express such viewpoints.

The ambassador also addressed concerns about rising antisemitism, particularly referencing a letter sent to former President Donald Trump by the National Association of Christian Lawmakers. The letter urged the Trump administration to facilitate easier visa access for Jewish Canadians who feel endangered by the rhetoric in their country.

Huckabee echoed these concerns, stating, "I think we've all seen and frankly been quite alarmed at some of the extraordinary Jew hatred that is taking place in Canada, and many Canadian Jewish people are really concerned and afraid for their lives." He noted that Trump had publicly acknowledged the letter.

Regarding the conflict in Yemen, Huckabee commented on the Iran-backed Houthi offensive against Saudi-backed forces. When asked if Israel might assist Saudi Arabia, Huckabee stated that Israel desires improved regional relations. He added that while he could not confirm specific requests or assistance, Israel has indicated it is not seeking to take land from its neighbors and wishes to foster better ties.

This controversy follows Macklemore's performance of his song " Hind's Hall" at a pro-Palestinian rally, where he chanted "Free Palestine." Reports indicate that Robert Kraft, owner of the New England Patriots and Gillette Stadium, subsequently removed Macklemore from a curated concert series for Ed Sheeran's tour.
