House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries, poised to become the next Speaker of the House, declared that Democrats will refuse to cooperate with President Trump's newly appointed chief of staff, Stephen Miller. This stance signals early friction following the Democratic party's significant gains in the recent midterm elections.

Jeffries, speaking on ABC's "This Week," characterized Miller as "the architect of Donald Trump's violent mass deportation machine." He alleged that Miller was responsible for policies that led to the deaths of Americans, mentioning Alex Pretti and Renee Nicole Good as examples.

"There's not gonna be any opportunity, certainly, to work with Stephen Miller and what he represents," Jeffries stated. He added that his party is committed to "forcefully pushing back against the extremism that they may try to continue to unleash on the American people."

Jeffries indicated that the recent election results have provided Democrats with a "firewall" to counter the Trump administration's agenda.
