Alexis “Lexi” Kramer, 22, of Lakewood, Florida, was identified as one of the victims in the Sunday morning crash that also claimed the life of 27-year-old James Wehr. The couple died when their McLaren smashed into a tree and split in half in Irvine, according to reports.
Gracie Kramer, Alexis’ sister, told The Post that Lexi had flown to California on Friday to meet Wehr, who she had been communicating with for about a month via Instagram. Gracie stated that Wehr had told Lexi he was divorcing his wife, Emma, and that their separation was finalized. However, court records reviewed by The Post did not indicate that a divorce case had been filed.
"He talked to her every day all the time and finally got her to fly out to California to come see him," Gracie said. She added that her sister, who had a passion for cars, was allegedly misled by Wehr regarding his marital status.
Wehr, the founder of the South OC Cars and Coffee car show, was identified by his family and the car community. The popular event draws thousands of enthusiasts weekly. Police stated that the McLaren was stopped at a red light before accelerating at a high speed once the light turned green. The driver lost control, leading to the crash into a tree, which caused the vehicle to split apart and ignite.
Authorities have not yet released the official cause of the crash or identified who was driving the vehicle at the time. The medical examiner's office has received dental records for confirmation.
Alexis Kramer had recently earned an associate's degree from Polk State College and was working as a bartender. Her sister described her as kind, funny, and charismatic.
James Wehr's wife, Emma, posted a tribute on social media remembering him as a loving and kind individual. The Wehr family has requested privacy during their mourning period.
