A Coast Guard plane transporting Homeland Security Secretary Markwayne Mullin made an emergency landing Wednesday afternoon at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport.

The aircraft, a 25-year-old plane, experienced a loss of its right engine, according to sources. There were 14 people on board, including Secretary Mullin.

In a post on X, Mullin stated that there was "no panic" during the incident and praised the pilots. "The United States Coast Guard pilots made the single engine landing feel routine," Mullin wrote. "No panic, just straight professionalism. After we landed, the pilots told me that was a first for them! We could not have been in better hands."
