Homeland Security Investigations Raids Ilhan Omar's Home in Pre-Dawn Operation
The search warrant is part of a federal investigation into the congresswoman's immigration paperwork.
Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) executed a judicially authorized search warrant at the Washington, D.C. home of Rep. Ilhan Omar, D-Minn., early Monday morning. The enforcement action is connected to an ongoing federal investigation.
A source familiar with the matter confirmed the raid to Fox News Digital, stating it stems from a criminal fraud investigation concerning immigration paperwork filed by Omar's late father on her behalf when she was a child. Two sources close to the investigation corroborated these details.
This action follows comments made in mid-September by former Border Patrol Chief Tom Homan, who stated that the congresswoman was the subject of a "criminal" investigation. A Department of Justice spokesperson confirmed the warrant was secured by the DOJ and executed by HSI.
