Troubled Hollywood scion Redmond O’Neal, the son of late actors Ryan O’Neal and Farrah Fawcett, uttered a chilling threat before pulling a knife on a barista during a 2018 Los Angeles rampage, a witness testified Thursday.

Samantha Cline, a barista at a Venice coffee shop, told O’Neal’s attempted murder trial that O’Neal entered the establishment in May 2018 and requested a free coffee sample. When Cline informed him that the shop did not offer samples, O’Neal locked eyes with her and said, “Stop staring at me.”

O’Neal then produced a knife from his pocket and advanced toward Cline and a coworker. He eventually turned and left, knocking items off shelves as he exited.

This incident marked the culmination of a three-day spree across Los Angeles that involved multiple victims who were reportedly beaten or stabbed in seemingly random attacks.

O’Neal, 41, faces charges including attempted murder, assault with a deadly weapon, making criminal threats, and battery. Court evaluations revealed that O’Neal suffers from schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, and antisocial personality disorder, conditions that have been linked to his years-long struggles with mental health and drug addiction.

During the court proceedings on Thursday, O'Neal appeared with devil horns tattooed on his forehead and other visible ink on his body. He largely remained silent during the testimonies, reportedly wiping his face.

O’Neal is currently incarcerated at Patton State Hospital in San Bernardino County. ![Ryan O'Neal, his son Redmond, and Farrah Fawcett pose together at the "Malibu's Most Wanted" Los Angeles premiere.](/images/AZnSEDiKEcVD "Ryan O'Neal, his son Redmond, and Farrah Fawcett pose together at the "Malibu's Most Wanted" Los Angeles premiere.")
