Hollywood, often a stage for dramatic breakups, also showcases remarkable examples of former couples maintaining close friendships. These individuals prove that endings do not always have to be acrimonious, with some celebrity exes demonstrating that lasting bonds can form even after romantic relationships conclude.

Tobey Maguire recently officiated the wedding of his ex-wife, Jennifer Meyer, to billionaire heir Geoffrey Ogunlesi. Maguire and Meyer, who were married from 2007 to 2016 and share two children, have maintained an exceptionally close relationship. Meyer described Maguire as her "best friend now," stating in a July 2024 podcast appearance that they travel and celebrate holidays together. "I literally have the best ex-husband in the world, and I hit the jackpot," she said.

Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner, who were married for ten years before separating in 2015 and finalizing their divorce in 2018, have also prioritized maintaining a respectful co-parenting relationship. Affleck has spoken about the importance of his children seeing his respect for Garner, telling PEOPLE, "Our marriage didn't work, and that's difficult. Both of us really believe that it's important for kids to see their parents respect one another and get along, whether they're together or not." He further described their co-parenting dynamic as "really wonderful."

Chris Martin and Gwyneth Paltrow, who announced their separation in 2014 after a decade of marriage, have also remained close, coining their split "conscious uncoupling." Paltrow has spoken warmly of Martin's current partner, Dakota Johnson, saying, "We're actually very good friends. I love her so much. She's an adorable, wonderful person."

Demi Moore and Bruce Willis, married from 1987 to 2000, continue to present a united front as a family despite their divorce. Moore expressed gratitude for their ability to maintain a family unit in various forms, emphasizing their shared commitment to their daughters. "We will always be a family, just in a different form," Moore stated, highlighting that "there is life after divorce. There is a way to co-parent with love."

Other notable examples include Kourtney Kardashian and Scott Disick, who have maintained a strong family unit since their 2015 split, frequently taking family trips together. Irina Shayk and Bradley Cooper have also demonstrated amicable co-parenting of their daughter since their 2019 separation, even sparking reconciliation rumors after a family trip. Miranda Kerr and Orlando Bloom, who divorced in 2013, have also maintained a harmonious relationship for the sake of their son, Flynn, with Kerr emphasizing the importance of forgiveness and prioritizing their child's needs. Kerr noted that she has also developed a close relationship with Bloom's later partner, Katy Perry, stating, "We're one big, happy family."
