Holly Ramsay-Peaty, wife of swimmer Adam Peaty, has publicly expressed her pride in her husband's return to championship racing, even as he secured three medals at the recent Commonwealth Games without a gold.

Peaty, 31, competed in four events at the Glasgow games but did not achieve a gold medal in any. His wife, Holly, 26, who is pregnant with their first child, shared an Instagram post detailing the demanding nature of his comeback. "Watching your comeback to championship racing has been inspiring, it’s not been an easy journey but your determination and faith have never wavered and we will keep going, through the good and the bad together," she wrote. She also noted his impressive 52 international championship medals, adding, "You reminded us what it costs to keep coming back."

Adam Peaty has previously alluded to his family rift affecting his performance, stating he had been feeling "off" and unsure of the reasons. He expressed a desire to focus on his role as a husband and father as they prepare to welcome a daughter in December. Holly shared images of herself supporting Adam at the games, including a moment where he caressed her baby bump.

Peaty acknowledged the challenges of balancing fatherhood with preparations for the Los Angeles Olympics in two years. He credited his wife and support network for assisting him in managing the demands of sleep deprivation and training. The swimmer's parents were notably absent from the Commonwealth Games, marking the first major competition where they did not attend poolside. This absence follows a reported falling out stemming from the engagement party and wedding of Adam and Holly, to which wider family members were not invited.

Adam's mother, Caroline Peaty, has stated that she and her husband expect nothing in return from their son, emphasizing their past support. She has also spoken about enduring online abuse from trolls and expressed a desire for the family to be left alone. Caroline has indicated that she forgives those who have wronged her but does not accept their behavior or trust them, stating her need to move on with her life. She also revealed that she had contemplated suicide during a period of deep despair related to the estrangement.

Adam himself has spoken about the emotional toll the family feud has taken. Following his third-place finish in the 100m breaststroke, he commented that the situation "has taken its toll" and acknowledged the "ups and downs" throughout his career. He is looking forward to embracing his roles as a father and husband, aiming to find a balance with his athletic ambitions.
