Holly Hagan Marks One Year Since Sister's Death from Overdose

Reality television personality Holly Hagan has marked the one-year anniversary of her sister Darci Rose Gibson's death. Darci passed away at the age of 19 in October 2025 following an accidental overdose of crystal MDMA, which led to multi-organ failure.

Hagan shared an emotional message on Instagram, reflecting on the day of her sister's passing and her subsequent donation of vital organs. "1 year without you. We love and miss you so much Darci xxx," Hagan wrote. She detailed the difficult process of preparing for the organ donation, including recording her sister's heartbeat and the day doctors confirmed no signs of life.

Darci's heart was successfully transplanted into a stranger, a fact Hagan acknowledged in her tribute. "But it wasn't just the day you died, it was the day you saved a life.. the day you became a hero and an angel all in one," she stated. Hagan emphasized that her sister is frequently remembered by the family through various signs and memories.

Earlier this year, Hagan issued a public warning to festival-goers about the dangers of drug use, particularly MDMA, following her sister's death. She highlighted that drug-related fatalities are a significant cause of death at UK festivals and urged people to be careful and look after their friends. "Nobody thinks it'll happen to them until it does," she wrote, expressing her pain that other families might endure similar tragedies.

Hagan was devastated by her sister's passing and had previously paid tribute to the paramedics and staff at the MRI for providing Darci with the best possible care. At the time of Darci's death, Hagan described the experience as traumatic for the family, stating, "It is with immeasurable grief and sadness that our baby girl, my baby sister Darci Rose passed away peacefully holding my hand surrounded by family and her best friends."
