Michael Desronvil, the juror whose dissent led to a mistrial in the Lindsay Clancy case, has broken his silence, asserting he had no doubts about Clancy's criminal responsibility. Desronvil, the lone holdout among the 12 jurors, stated in a statement to CBS News, "Based on all the physical evidence, key witnesses, and what the prosecution presents, I thought it was enough proof that she knew exactly what she was doing and planned."
His comments come after several other jurors spoke out following the mistrial, accusing Desronvil of creating doubt and being unwilling to consider their perspectives. Juror Paula Devlin told NBC10 Boston that Desronvil "was very arrogant" and "really did not take anything that anybody said."
The trial, which concluded with a mistrial after seven days of deliberation, centered on whether Clancy should be held criminally responsible for the 2023 deaths of her three children. While Clancy admitted to the killings, her defense argued she was suffering from postpartum psychosis and had not received adequate medical care. The prosecution, however, presented evidence suggesting premeditation.
Desronvil's attorney, Edward Andrew Paltzik, has stated that Desronvil is in a secure location due to threats he has received. Paltzik also posted on social media, characterizing Desronvil as an "American Hero and Champion of Justice."
Separately, NBC10 Boston reported that Desronvil has a history of domestic abuse allegations, including a restraining order filed by his nephew and a charge for allegedly assaulting his then-wife in 2021.
The legal proceedings for Lindsay Clancy are ongoing, with a status hearing scheduled for later this month. Clancy's defense attorney, Kevin Reddington, has publicly appealed to former President Donald Trump for a pardon, despite the case being at the state level. Reddington also intends to seek the dismissal of the charges.
Meanwhile, Clancy's ex-husband, Patrick Clancy, and his new wife, Dr. Rachel Danis, are scheduled to appear in a "60 Minutes" interview. They have been the subject of intense scrutiny and conspiracy theories online, with some social media users suggesting Patrick Clancy's involvement in the children's deaths.
