Holdout Juror in Lindsay Clancy Trial Goes into Hiding

The sole juror who refused to acquit Lindsay Clancy has gone into hiding after his identity was allegedly revealed online by supporters of the mother accused of murdering her three children. The juror, identified by NewsNation as Michael P. Desronvil, has left his Massachusetts home, his attorney, Edward Andrew Paltzik, announced.

Paltzik stated that Desronvil is currently in a secure, undisclosed location in Northern New England, describing him as an "American Hero and Champion of Justice." The attorney vowed to hold accountable those who have attacked his client.

Desronvil, a supporter of Donald Trump and a self-proclaimed patriot, told NewsNation that he "didn't have any doubts" about his decision during deliberations. He explained that he felt there was sufficient evidence to prove Clancy intentionally planned to kill her children: Cora, five, Dawson, three, and eight-month-old Callan. He also stated that he believed Clancy "knew right from wrong" and was not legally insane at the time of the killings.

These statements appear to contradict earlier remarks by the jury foreperson, Roni Carlson, who told NBC10 that the holdout juror had admitted to having reasonable doubt. However, podcast host Ray Marcel of Fugitive TV, who also spoke with Desronvil, reported that the juror disputed these claims, asserting that some information shared in the media was untrue or only partially true.

Clancy admitted to strangling her children but pleaded not guilty to murder by reason of insanity, claiming she was suffering from postpartum psychosis. The trial ended in an 11-1 deadlock, resulting in a mistrial. Prosecutors have not yet stated whether they intend to retry Clancy or offer a plea deal.

Desronvil's attorney stated that his client never lied to the court and properly completed juror questionnaires, despite NBC Boston reporting allegations of domestic violence against him from a past dispute with his ex-wife and an alleged incident involving his nephew. Desronvil reportedly claimed these allegations stemmed from a difficult marriage and were retaliatory after he filed for divorce.

A crowdfunding campaign on GiveSendGo established to support Desronvil's "security, lawyers, and lost work" has garnered over $280,000. The campaign organizer praised Desronvil for his stance, stating, "One juror held his seat. He looked at what she did, not the brand of Zoloft."

Marcel, who shared Desronvil's perspective in an effort to counter the vitriol directed at the juror, recounted how Desronvil used a water bottle and string to demonstrate the force Clancy might have used to strangle her children. Desronvil reportedly felt his decision was based on the "preparation she [Clancy] did" before the attacks, including sending her husband out for errands. He also claimed that some fellow jurors slandered him after the trial, suggesting he was targeted because he is a "black Republican."
