Holdout Juror in Lindsay Clancy Murder Trial Had 'Zero Doubt,' Attorney Claims

The attorney for the lone holdout juror in the Lindsay Clancy murder trial is disputing claims that his client refused to follow the law, asserting that the juror was certain of his decision.

Edward Paltzik, representing juror Michael P. Desronvil, told Fox News host Kayleigh McEnany that Desronvil had "zero doubt" and "a mountain of evidence" to support his stance, pushing back against a note from the jury foreperson accusing him of not adhering to the law regarding reasonable doubt.

Desronvil was the sole juror who did not vote to find Clancy not criminally responsible for the deaths of her three children, even after seven days of deliberations. The other eleven jurors were reportedly ready to acquit Clancy on the grounds of not being criminally responsible, while Desronvil insisted on a conviction. This deadlock led Judge William Sullivan to declare a mistrial on September 4.

Lindsay Clancy admitted to killing her children, Cora, 5, Dawson, 3, and Callan, 8 months, in their Duxbury, Massachusetts, home in January 2023. Her defense team argued that she was suffering from postpartum psychosis, rendering her not criminally responsible. Conversely, prosecutors contended that Clancy was aware of her actions and had planned the killings.

Desronvil maintained that the evidence presented and witness testimony indicated Clancy was aware of her actions. Prosecutors have not yet stated whether they will pursue a retrial. Clancy is scheduled to appear in court again on September 29.
