Historic flooding in Indiana has resulted in the destruction of a significant portion of River Road on the north side of Indianapolis. Powerful floodwaters battered the state, causing a section of the roadway near the White River to collapse.

The White River was projected to crest later in the day as additional rainfall moved through the region. By Saturday afternoon, at least five fatalities had been reported across Indiana due to the flooding, according to information from the Associated Press.

The intense rainfall and subsequent flooding have caused widespread damage, with the collapse of River Road serving as a stark visual representation of the event's severity. Authorities are monitoring the river's crest and continuing to assess the full extent of the damage and the impact on communities across the state.
