Hillary Swank Postponed Baby Announcement After Ex-Husband's Daughter's Death
Sources reveal the actress waited to share her pregnancy news out of respect for ex-husband Chad Lowe and his family following the suicide of his daughter Fiona.
Hillary Swank held off on announcing her pregnancy weeks ago out of consideration for her ex-husband Chad Lowe and his family after the death of his daughter Fiona.
Sources close to the actress stated that Swank wanted to share her baby news sooner but "held off" following the tragedy. Lowe's 13-year-old daughter Fiona died by suicide on September 29. Insiders believe that announcing her pregnancy so soon after Fiona's death would have appeared "painfully insensitive."
"She is so thankful that it turned out that way because she would never have wanted to add to his grief inadvertently," a source told Daily Mail. "It has been well over a decade since both Chad and Hilary have talked. They aren't friends, but they also aren't enemies and she feels very bad about Chad's situation."
Swank and Lowe, who were married for eight years, split amicably in 2006. The actress is currently expecting her third child, her first with her new husband Philip Schneider. She is already a mother to twins.
