Hilary Duff Embraces Y2K Nostalgia with Bedazzled Eyebrows in Paper Magazine Shoot
The "Lizzie McGuire" star channels early 2000s fashion for a vibrant new photoshoot, reflecting on the era's style.
Hilary Duff is revisiting the Y2K era with a playful new photoshoot for Paper magazine, showcasing a bold, bedazzled eyebrow look that harks back to early 2000s fashion. The images, published Monday, feature Duff embracing the nostalgic aesthetic that defined her early career.
In one standout shot, Duff laughs exuberantly, adorned with colorful jewels on her eyebrows, while wearing a strapless black minidress. Another image sees her sporting pink rhinestones on her brows, complemented by pink flower jewels in her hair, further solidifying the Y2K vibe.
For the magazine's cover, Duff is featured in a purple lacy minidress, paired with chunky black platform heels and an array of beaded bracelets. Duff, who starred in the Disney Channel show "Lizzie McGuire" from 2001 to 2004, has become an icon of the late '90s and early 2000s.
In an accompanying Q&A, the mother of four discussed how her millennial fans have embraced Y2K fashion at her concerts, partly in tribute to her 2003 album "Metamorphosis." Duff expressed her amusement and enjoyment of seeing the style return, particularly mentioning her fondness for baggy low-rise jeans.
She noted that while she appreciates the fashion revival, she no longer feels the pressure to conform to specific beauty standards. "The pressure is gone, which is nice," Duff stated. "Seeing kids dressed like that makes me so happy, because it takes me back, but I don’t actually want to be 17. I don’t even want to be 25."
Duff also humorously referenced her past fashion choices, joking about having PTSD from the number of shawls she wore during that period.
The singer has been incorporating nods to her past during her "The Lucky Me" World Tour. Notably, she reunited with ex-boyfriend Joel Madden for a duet onstage and paid tribute to the late Aaron Carter by wearing a vintage T-shirt featuring him during a concert.
