Helena Bonham Carter Cycles Through Red Light on Electric Bike in London

Helena Bonham Carter was seen cycling through a red light in central London on Friday while running errands. The Crown actress, 60, appeared to disregard the Highway Code as she traversed the intersection.

Bonham Carter was riding a £2,990 Voltaire Rivoli electric city bike in English Green, accessorized with a £39 Victorian classic basket. She wore a £79 Dashel ocean edition helmet, chosen for its sustainable design supporting marine conservation. Her attire included a plaid jacket over a blue cardigan, semi-sheer pantaloon trousers from All Saints priced at £149, and £787 Roger Vivier Slidy Viv' Leather Sandals.

Transport for London regulations stipulate that cyclists must stop at red traffic lights. Failure to do so can result in a £50 fixed penalty notice. Under the UK Highway Code, cyclists are required to obey all red traffic lights at standard junctions and pedestrian/cycle crossings, with the sole exception of a permitted green cycle arrow or signal. Enforcement in London has increased, with the City of London Police issuing over 1,300 notices for red-light and safety violations in a single year.

Representatives for Helena Bonham Carter were contacted for further comment. The actress is often seen walking her dog with her partner, art historian Rye Dag Holmboe, 38. Bonham Carter previously stated that she does not believe in marriage, having found love with Holmboe after a chance meeting following the end of her relationship with Tim Burton.
