BBC 'Morning Live' co-hosts Helen Skelton and Gethin Jones were observed leaving the National Television Awards afterparty together early Sept. 9, an event that has intensified rumors about a romantic relationship between the two. The pair, who have consistently denied speculation about an off-screen romance for the past year, were seen departing the O2 Arena's Amex Lounge side-by-side.

An exclusive photograph captured Skelton, 43, adjusting her dress as she and Jones, 48, exited. Jones reportedly kept his head down to avoid drawing attention. Their joint departure occurred shortly before staff began clearing out the afterparty venue around 1 a.m. Onlookers noted that the co-hosts appeared to be conversing intimately during the event, which was attended by television executives, reality stars, and other celebrities.

One source described the pair as "the talk of the town" and "all over each other" at the party, stating, "It was like they couldn’t be apart. He would move and then she would, always looking where the other was and always within three metres of the other’s orbit."

When approached for comment about their relationship status, Jones became visibly uncomfortable and declined to discuss any romance with Skelton. Skelton reportedly laughed off the questions. Shortly after, they left the venue together.

A source close to the co-hosts within the BBC indicated differing approaches to the rumors, stating, "Gethin is adamant about denying the rumours whereas Helen thinks they should just let it all come out."

This is reportedly the first time anything beyond a friendship has been documented between Skelton and Jones since Skelton joined 'Morning Live' in 2023. The BBC had sought to replicate the success of iconic presenting duos like Richard Madeley and Judy Finnigan when establishing the show in 2020, aiming for presenters with strong chemistry and existing audience recognition. Both Skelton and Jones have prior experience with the BBC, having presented 'Blue Peter' and participated in 'Strictly Come Dancing'.

Rumors of an on-screen partnership evolving into an off-screen romance first emerged approximately 18 months ago. One source claimed at the time that the pair were "very happy together." Previously, they were reportedly seen leaving a spa near Jones's home in Cheshire, with witnesses describing them as "all over each other." Skelton was also seen departing the venue with a suitcase.

Both presenters have experienced public heartbreak in their past relationships. Skelton's marriage to rugby player Richie Myler ended in April 2022. Gethin Jones previously ended a relationship with opera singer Katherine Jenkins in 2011.

The report contrasted their situation with other celebrity couples, noting Olivia Attwood and Pete Wicks, who have been open about their relationship despite co-hosting a radio show. The article also mentioned Love Island contestant Priya Jaswal and Joey Essex being seen together at the afterparty.
