Call the Midwife actress Helen George has disclosed that her boyfriend died from leukemia not long after they started dating. George, 42, kept the tragedy private until now.
She recounted that the diagnosis was serious from the outset and that her boyfriend was aware of the gravity of his illness. The day after learning of the diagnosis, George had to travel to the Bahamas to film ITV's "Shark! Celebrity Infested Waters." She described calling her best friend to cry over the situation.
George has spoken about how spirituality and crystals helped her cope with the loss, leading her to believe that deceased individuals continue to watch over the living. She shared on the "Mystic Mates" podcast that a clairvoyant told her the ex-boyfriend was present and unhappy about her subsequent relationship.
These revelations follow the end of George's relationship with businessman Dan Innes. She was previously in a seven-year relationship with her Call the Midwife co-star Jack Ashton.
