Actress Helen George has shared insights into her co-parenting relationship with ex-partner Jack Ashton, describing him as an "incredible and reliable father." The former couple, who met on the set of the BBC series "Call The Midwife," share two daughters, Wren, eight, and Lark, four. They separated in 2023 after welcoming their children.
George, 42, discussed the complexities of managing motherhood alongside her acting career, acknowledging that she sometimes makes mistakes. "It is a juggle and I make mistakes. I have to forgive myself for that because I am a good mother," she stated in an interview with BBC Radio 4.
She detailed her approach to integrating her children into her work life, explaining that they often spend time in her dressing room after school. "They have to be in the dressing room after school. They have to have their bath in my dressing room, be put to bed in the dressing room and then I take them home," George said. She views this as an opportunity for her daughters to witness her work and understand the importance of financial independence for women.
George also expressed appreciation for Ashton's role in their shared custody arrangement. "We split the children 50/50, he is an incredible and reliable father who also juggles as much as I!" she remarked.
In other personal news, George has reportedly been in a relationship with businessman Dan Innes since January 2025. The pair are believed to have met on the celebrity dating app Raya. Innes, who is 11 years George's senior, is a father of two. George has shared updates about their relationship on her Instagram.
Previously, George was linked to her "Call the Midwife" co-star Olly Rix in 2025, following their respective splits from long-term partners. George had separated from Ashton after seven years together, while Rix had ended his relationship with his girlfriend of eight years. However, George and Rix reportedly drifted apart.
George was also previously married to actor Oliver Boot. They divorced after three years of marriage. She met Boot on the set of the BBC drama "Hotel Babylon," and they married in December 2012. Their separation occurred shortly before George's participation in "Strictly Come Dancing" in 2015.
