Helen Flanagan has embraced her role as Aladdin's Spirit of the Ring as she prepares for the upcoming pantomime season, a period often lucrative for performers. This comes as the 36-year-old former Coronation Street star has spoken publicly about financial challenges she has faced as a single mother.
Flanagan is scheduled to perform in Aladdin at Parr Hall in Warrington, appearing alongside fellow Coronation Street actor Steven Arnold. The show is set to run from December 30 to January 10, with ticket prices ranging from £9 to £20.
Pantomime performances are a significant source of income for many celebrities, with some reportedly earning substantial amounts for a few weeks of work. For instance, Alison Hammond previously earned £195,000 for her pantomime appearances, and Scott Mills reportedly made £190,000.
Flanagan has been open about her financial situation, particularly after her split from former partner Scott Sinclair. She recently sold the home they shared with their three children—Matilda, 11, Delilah, eight, and Charlie, five—in Lancashire. The property was initially listed for £1.5 million but was eventually sold for £945,000.
In a social media video following the house sale, Flanagan expressed feelings of uncertainty about her career path and personal circumstances. She indicated that she was considering a move to London and had been feeling frustrated with her work, stating a desire to act and find employment.
Sources indicate that the former couple had a home valued at £840,000 when purchased in June 2021. A £15,000 sofa reportedly became a point of contention, with Sinclair allegedly blocking Flanagan's attempt to sell it for £3,950 on Instagram.
