A Chinese heiress, LanLan Yang, accused of crashing her $1.5 million Rolls-Royce while under the influence of alcohol, appeared in court on bail wearing an ensemble valued at nearly $26,000. The 24-year-old has been facing legal action for over a year following a collision in Sydney that resulted in life-altering injuries for another driver.

Yang arrived at the Rose Bay police station in Sydney for her bail reporting duties in an Uber. This appearance follows previous instances where she was transported in a Rolls-Royce and a Tesla Model X. The crash occurred over 12 months ago when Yang's Tiffany-blue Cullinan reportedly collided with a Mercedes van driven by George Plassaras, the chauffeur for radio host Kyle Sandilands. Mr. Plassaras sustained severe injuries, including a broken spine, shattered hips, two broken femurs, fractured ribs, a ruptured spleen, and a torn abdomen.

On Wednesday, Yang wore a Chanel jacket ($9,500), a Chanel shirt ($3,500), Lululemon pants ($149), a Chanel bag ($8,800), Hermes shoes ($2,005), a Dior hat ($1,200), and Miu Miu sunglasses ($825). She has appeared in person only once in the eight times her case has been mentioned in Sydney's Downing Centre Local Court since August of the previous year.

Yang has pleaded not guilty to charges including dangerous driving occasioning grievous bodily harm while under the influence, driving with a mid-range prescribed concentration of alcohol, negligent driving occasioning grievous bodily harm, failing to submit to a breath test, and not providing particulars to the police. Her lawyers have expressed a desire to have the case set down for a hearing, noting the proceedings have been ongoing for a significant period.

The court has been informed that the police brief of evidence has been slow to materialize, with significant portions, particularly crash investigation material, yet to be served. A hearing has been scheduled from November 27 to December 4, with the brief of evidence ordered to be served by May 26. The court has warned that an arrest warrant will be issued if Yang does not appear in person for a pre-hearing status mention scheduled for October 2.

Yang's case garnered public attention due to her unexplained wealth, with onlookers intrigued by her high-value possessions, including a second Rolls-Royce. Her legal team has previously stated that she has experienced mental health issues and rarely leaves her home, having been sent to Australia by her parents at age 14 and now holding permanent residency.
