Heidi Montag has released her third studio album, "Masterpiece," featuring a collection of sexually explicit lyrics that contrast with her public image and her husband Spencer Pratt's political endeavors.
The 39-year-old reality television personality, known for her role on "The Hills," explores themes of casual sexual encounters and explicit desires in her new music. Songs like "Splash" include lines such as, "Feel the bass, like the taste / Put me in a chokehold, spit on my face" and "Get the cuffs, I'm a slut / Hitting highnotes, like Mariah does." Another track, "Summer Love," contains the lyrics, "You've been going down all day, huh?" and "I go down easy, and you can't get enough."
Montag's song "Pretty" features provocative imagery with lines like "Wanna break the window with my body up against it / Wanna wake the neighbors, make 'em mad, make 'em jealous." The titular track, "Masterpiece," references a sexual position with the line, "I'm your night nurse / Or your cowgirl in reverse." In the song "IV Drip," Montag appears to sing about oral sex with the line, "He's hooked up to my lips / He loves my IV drip, drip, drip."
This artistic direction for "Masterpiece" marks a departure from Montag's personal life, which includes a 17-year marriage to Spencer Pratt. The couple, who have two sons, have been married for two decades after meeting in a nightclub. Pratt, a registered Republican, recently concluded a mayoral race in Los Angeles. He was eliminated from the LA mayoral race in June, with Nithya Raman and Karen Bass advancing to the November election.
Montag expressed pride in her husband's political run in a June 14 tweet, stating, "I couldn't love my husband more and be more proud of him. What an inspiration, what a hero." She also tweeted her gratitude for living in America. Pratt's decision to run for mayor was reportedly motivated by the loss of their $3.8 million Pacific Palisades home in the LA wildfires, which led to their homeowner's insurance policy being dropped.
The album's explicit content has garnered a mixed but largely positive reaction on platforms like YouTube, where some users praised its "edgy creative sound" and "good dance music." One commenter noted, "Very few are able to say it this plain, look the part AND mean what they're saying."
Montag is scheduled to perform at the Neon Skies music festival on July 18 in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. The reality star has maintained a significant online presence, boasting millions of social media followers and monthly listeners on Spotify, and also earns income through Cameo.
