Supermodel Heidi Klum surprised her son Henry with a Ferrari F430 for his 21st birthday on Saturday. The elaborate gift, estimated to be worth upwards of $200,000, was revealed in a video shared by Klum on Instagram.
In the video, Henry's stepfather, Tom Kaulitz, led him to the flashy red sports car. Klum explained that the gift fulfilled a promise made years earlier when Henry, then a teenager, made a bet with Kaulitz over the video game Mario Kart. The terms of the bet were that if Henry lost, he would be banned from video games for three months and have to paint a picture of himself driving. If he won, Kaulitz would give him a Ferrari when he turned 21.
"I can't believe it is that time. You've been waiting for so many years," Klum said to Henry in the video. Henry expressed his astonishment, saying, "Oh my God! Jesus Christ. I don't even know what to say."
Kaulitz shared that he purchased the Ferrari last year at a car show and had been keeping it hidden in their garage. Klum noted her husband had kept his promise, remarking on the seven years since the bet was made.
Klum, 53, is also the mother of Leni, 22, Johan, 19, and Lou, 16. Leni's biological father is Flavio Briatore, and she was adopted by Seal, whom Klum also shares Johan and Lou with. Klum celebrated Henry's birthday with family, sharing photos and videos on Instagram, including one of Henry enjoying his "first legal drink" and another of him blowing out birthday candles.
The birthday celebration follows a family getaway to St. Barts in early August, where Klum and Kaulitz also celebrated their seventh wedding anniversary, joined by Leni and Henry. Klum and her children, including Henry, are often seen together on red carpets. In May 2025, Henry spoke about his parents' supportive nature, calling them an inspiration. He also shared how their encouragement influenced his personal style.
