Hayden Panettiere's Overdose Emergency Detailed in Released 911 Audio

Newly released 911 call audio has revealed the desperate efforts to save the life of actress Hayden Panettiere following a drug overdose. Panettiere died on August 16 at the age of 36 in Greenville, South Carolina, with the official cause of death attributed to the 'toxic effects' of multiple drugs, including fentanyl, in an accidental overdose.

According to the audio obtained by CBS, Zach Hickerson, the brother of Panettiere's boyfriend Brian Hickerson, can be heard telling dispatchers that he found Panettiere unconscious and not breathing after arriving at the apartment shared by Brian and his girlfriend. The call reveals confusion and urgency as dispatchers guide Zach and Brian through CPR procedures.

Discussions about the availability of a defibrillator and instructions for chest compressions and mouth-to-mouth resuscitation are audible. At one point, one of the brothers exclaims, "what do we do!" before continuing with the dispatcher's guidance. Shouts of "come on!" are also heard in the background during the resuscitation attempts.

Panettiere is survived by her daughter, Kaya, whom she had with ex-fiancé Wladimir Klitschko. In 2018, Panettiere relinquished full custody of Kaya to Klitschko amid her struggles with postpartum depression and addiction. Klitschko subsequently moved their daughter to Ukraine.
