Hayden Panettiere's Final Moments Detailed in 911 Call Released by Authorities

Newly released 911 call audio has shed light on the final moments of actress Hayden Panettiere, who was found unresponsive in a South Carolina apartment on August 16. The seven-minute recording captures Zach Hickerson, the brother of Panettiere's on-and-off boyfriend Brian Hickerson, desperately attempting to revive the 36-year-old actress.

Zach Hickerson can be heard asking the dispatcher for guidance, inquiring, “Oh, God, oh, my God — you do like CPR or something?” The audio indicates that while Zach performed CPR, Brian Hickerson administered Narcan, a medication used to reverse opioid overdoses.

Zach Hickerson had arrived at the apartment after returning from church and discovered his brother and Panettiere inside. He informed the 911 operator that Panettiere was unconscious and, when asked if she was breathing, replied, “No, I don’t think so.” The dispatcher then guided Zach through chest compressions and mouth-to-mouth resuscitation.

Panettiere was pronounced dead at the scene at 2:32 p.m. According to the Greenville County Coroner's Office, her death was attributed to the toxic effects of fentanyl, 4-ANPP, alprazolam, methocarbamol, and quetiapine. The manner of death was ruled an accident.

The coroner's office stated that first responders initiated advanced cardiac life support measures, but resuscitation efforts were unsuccessful. An autopsy revealed no signs of trauma that would have contributed to her death.

Brian Hickerson had reportedly traveled with Panettiere from Los Angeles the day before she was found unresponsive. The couple had reportedly rekindled their relationship in the year prior to her death. The Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) was also reportedly contacted and assisting with the investigation into Panettiere's death.
