Hayden Panettiere's Engagement Ring Reported Missing Posthumously

Weeks after actress Hayden Panettiere's death on August 16, her engagement ring from former fiancé Wladimir Klitschko has gone missing, according to sources cited by Us magazine. Panettiere, who died at age 36 of an accidental overdose, had kept the ring following the couple's called-off engagement in 2018.

A source close to the situation told the publication that friends and family believe the ring was taken from Panettiere's belongings. "Hayden's engagement ring from Wlad that she's held onto for all this time is missing," the source stated. "Friends and family think that someone who was with her in her final days took it when they were pawning her things."

The Montblanc ring, reportedly valued at $500,000, was custom-designed by Panettiere herself. She had previously described the process to E! News in 2013, explaining how she collaborated with designers on sketches to create the unique piece, which featured a central emerald-cut diamond and a split-shank setting.

Panettiere and Klitschko, a Ukrainian boxer, were in an on-again, off-again relationship that began in 2009. They share an 11-year-old daughter, Kaya.

Panettiere died in South Carolina after going into cardiac arrest. Detectives confirmed to the Daily Mail that authorities responded to a 911 call from an acquaintance who reported the actress as unresponsive. Narcan, a medication used to reverse opioid overdoses, was found at the Airbnb where Panettiere was staying with her recent boyfriend, Brian Hickerson, and his brother. According to the incident report, Brian administered Narcan, and CPR was performed while emergency dispatchers were on the line.

Following her death, Klitschko paid tribute to Panettiere on Instagram, sharing a photo of them with their daughter. He described the profound shock and grief of their family and reflected on Panettiere's talent and the challenges she faced in her career. He concluded his message by wishing her eternal peace.

On what would have been Panettiere's 37th birthday, August 21, Klitschko shared a portrait of the actress, encouraging his followers to think about love, reach out to friends, forgive, and be kind.
