Hayden Panettiere's Boyfriend and Brother Excluded from Actress's Memorial
Brian Hickerson and Zach Panettiere understand their absence from the upcoming celebration of life event.
Brian Hickerson, the on-again, off-again boyfriend of the late actress Hayden Panettiere, and his brother Zach have acknowledged their exclusion from Panettiere's upcoming memorial service.
According to TMZ, the brothers understand the decision and respect that the event is a sensitive time for Panettiere's loved ones. They confirmed their absence from the Malibu gathering.
Panettiere, 36, died last month after experiencing cardiac arrest following a suspected overdose. She was staying at an Airbnb in South Carolina with Brian, 37, and Zach, 38, at the time of her death. Her mother, Lesley Vogel, who was estranged from the actress, was also not invited to the memorial.
Sources confirmed to the Daily Mail that detectives responded to a 911 call from an acquaintance reporting Panettiere as unresponsive. Narcan, an opioid overdose reversal nasal spray, was found in the apartment. An autopsy completed by the Greenville County Sheriff's Office found no signs of trauma on Panettiere's body.
According to the incident report from the Greenville Police Department, Zach told authorities that Brian was in a separate room when he discovered Panettiere unresponsive. Zach stated that Brian administered Narcan and that they performed CPR while on the phone with 911 dispatchers.
In the weeks following Panettiere's death, Brian and Zach have reportedly faced legal trouble. They were involved in a bar brawl, leading to Brian's detainment and Zach's arrest for disorderly conduct. An eyewitness told TMZ that the brothers were drinking at Wild Wing Cafe when other patrons allegedly heckled them about Panettiere's death.
Panettiere and Brian Hickerson began their tumultuous relationship in 2018. During their time together, Hickerson was arrested multiple times on domestic abuse charges. In 2021, he pleaded no contest to two felony counts of injuring a spouse or girlfriend, resulting in jail time, probation, domestic violence classes, restitution, and a five-year protective order.
Following Panettiere's death, Zach described her as 'precious' and stated that her friends and family should be allowed to mourn her peacefully. He urged for an end to the speculation and accusations swirling around her death, emphasizing that the truth would emerge as investigations concluded.
