Hayden Panettiere Honored at Malibu Memorial

Hayden Panettiere was remembered at a memorial service held Saturday in Malibu, California. The event saw attendance from her former "Nashville" costars Connie Britton, Jonathan Jackson, and Sam Palladio, alongside other friends and figures from the entertainment industry.

The ceremony, which took place at Malibu Pacific Church, began around 5 p.m. with guests enjoying food on a mezzanine. At approximately 5:30 p.m., doves were released as a symbolic gesture before the gathering moved inside for the service. A large photograph of Panettiere was displayed, bearing the inscription: "Honoring the life & legacy Hayden Panettiere 8.12.89 – 8.16.26."

During the service, Jonathan Jackson was seen in tears and was comforted by Sam Palladio. Connie Britton and Charles Esten delivered speeches, and Esten performed a song from their show "Nashville." Panettiere's father, Skip, was present, while her mother, Leslie Vogel, was reportedly not in attendance.

Approximately 150 guests were present at the celebration of life, which concluded around 7:30 p.m. Security personnel and local Sheriff's deputies were present throughout the evening. A source described the event as "emotional and beautiful."

Panettiere died last month at the age of 36. She experienced cardiac arrest following a suspected overdose in South Carolina, where she was staying with her on-again, off-again boyfriend Brian Hickerson and his brother Zach. According to reports, Narcan was found in the apartment where she was staying. An autopsy was completed, and authorities stated no signs of trauma were found on her body.

Brian and Zach Hickerson were reportedly not invited to the memorial. They have faced legal issues in the weeks since Panettiere's death, including being involved in a bar brawl. Panettiere's relationship with Brian Hickerson, which began in 2018, was marked by multiple domestic abuse accusations, leading to his arrest and conviction in 2021 for injuring a spouse or girlfriend.
