Actress Hayden Panettiere was found unresponsive on Sunday afternoon in a Greenville, South Carolina, apartment, according to police sources.
A friend who discovered Panettiere, 36, called 911 and reported she was unconscious from an apparent cardiac arrest.
First responders arrived and attempted to provide advanced cardiac life support, including chest compressions, but Panettiere was pronounced dead at 2:32 p.m.
Police stated that there were no signs of foul play in her death. The individual who found Panettiere was described as an acquaintance.
An autopsy is scheduled to be performed on Monday.
